Kenya has recorded 679 new cases of Covid-19.

This brings to 28,104 the total number of coronavirus cases confirmed so far.

Out of the new cases, 400 were identified as male, while 279 are women.

Speaking during the daily Covid-19 press briefing on Wednesday, August 12, Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi announced that the confirmed cases were recorded from 6,590 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The total samples tested since Coronavirus broke out in March 2020, now stands at 369,051

A total of 743 more patients have also recovered from the disease. This now brings the cumulative number of recoveries to 14,610.

Sadly, 18 people died over the same period, including a health official working at Kemri.
