Nyakach Sub-county police boss Daniel Chacha says the deceased, a teacher at Thurdibuoro Secondary School, suffered deep panga cut wounds from the altercation.
Chacha says neighbours heard the couple, who were married with three children, engage in a bitter exchange of words before the accused committed the heinous act.
He said the neighbours then rushed to the house and found the secondary school teacher unconscious and rushed her to Katito Medical Hospital.
Speaking to Ramogi, Chacha noted that she was later transferred to a private facility in Kisumu where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
He added that the police then moved quickly and arrested the suspect identified as Calvin Otieno who has since been locked up waiting to be charged in a court of law.
