1. At some point in Raila’s 2013 presidential campaigns, it appeared as though Musalia Mudavadi was gaining ground too fast. Raila advised:
“Don’t worry, Musalia will sought himself out in 2 months” He actually did.
2. Then opinion polls and general popularity appeared to be increasingly favouring our opponents. He advised.
“Its too early for aggressive campaigns. You will burnout and exhaust your political ammunition over and above accumulating contradictions that arm your opponents”
3. How about the issue of receiving defectors.
“Most defectors defect back. We have to get them at a time when they can’t go back. Defections are fundraising activities for aspirants. They will settle where their interests are best served at the right time”
4. He then concluded:
“In a campaign of this magnitude, you reserve your energy like a marathon runner and take off for the finishing line with increasing momentum. Calm down guys be calm. We have a year ahead of us.”
